MY Design Diary with Guard Grooming

I Make Guard Grooming Always Competitive in Providing and Serving Customers So as to Become a Leading Hair Removal Brand

Project Background

“Staying Competitive Means Knowing What to Do”

Guard Grooming is a leading Australian company specializing in hair removal products. With strong scientific research behind their product formulas, they are committed to providing safe and effective hair removal solutions for all skin types. Guard Grooming products are specifically designed to provide satisfying results without causing irritation to the skin, by prioritizing quality and safety in every product they offer.

Despite having a good reputation as a trusted manufacturer, Guard Grooming faces several challenges to remain competitive in the market. One of the main challenges is the difficulty in converting ad viewers into active buyers. Even though they have a strong advertising campaign, the conversion of decisions to actual purchases is still low, and this is a concern for Sam Saliba, owner of Guard Grooming.

In addition, many of their customers complain about the difficulty in choosing products that suit their needs or preferences. With a wide selection of products, customers often feel confused and unsure which one is right for them. Some customers also experience irritating effects or injuries due to allergies to the materials or components of the appliance, which raises serious concerns about the quality and safety of their products.

Customer complaints also focus on care and cleanliness of the shaving kit. Customers complain that their razors wear out quickly or are difficult to clean and maintain. Over time, many of their customers have experienced problems with decreased shaving performance.

All of these challenges led Sam Saliba to come to me and ask if I could help with his project of creating a web page for his maintenance subscription business. After a long discussion about goals, needs and requirements. I’m starting a multiple screen wireframe with a subscription model rough flow. Several iterations occurred, several samples were tested and I finally agreed on a specific flow that I wanted to work on. Working through that flow with some final designs, I conducted a final A/B test and then produced the finished product.

User Centered Design

"Get in The Middle of the User's Head and Create Creative Strategies to Improve Guard Grooming Business"

Using a User Centered design approach to understanding Guard Grooming customers, I made the process more streamlined. However, it does not eliminate the essence of science to find the most creative solutions.

With this approach, I make Guard Grooming visited by many Visitors and they are more determined to make purchases or subscriptions.

Discovery

"Sam Told Me How Guard Grooming's Condition is Right Now"

From the lengthy discussions held through Stakeholder Insights and Discussions with Sam Saliba, the owner of Guard Grooming, I understand that he is committed to always pay attention to input, complaints and opportunities from customers through various platforms such as marketplaces and social media.

Problems that often arise are related to customer preferences, such as skin type, coat type, history of allergies to certain materials, and hair growth rate. If customers make wrong preferences, this can cause negative effects such as irritation and discomfort to the skin. Sam realizes that problems like these can impact branding and customer trust in Guard Grooming, which in turn can affect sales and business reputation.

Therefore, Sam wants help in creating a web page for his product subscription business. He hopes to provide solutive solutions for customers and facilitate them in choosing products that suit their needs and preferences. Thus, Sam hopes that Guard Grooming can continue to compete in the market while maintaining customer satisfaction and a good business reputation.

Understanding Problem

"The Positioning of Brand Guard Grooming is Quite Good, but There are Unforeseen Problems Causing the Marketing Strategy to Be Ineffective"

In an effort to design brilliant and effective solutions, I undertook strategic steps to better identify their customers. Through creating user personas, I have defined customer characteristics and needs in greater depth, thereby better understanding who they are, what they need, and how the product can help them.

One of the user personas I created was Joan, a 25 year old office worker with combination skin type. Joan has a problem with rapid hair growth and often gets irritated when using hair removal products that are not suitable for her skin type. In the problem statement made, explained that this problem affected Joan’s comfort and confidence, and had an impact on the overall user experience of their product.

By having multiple user personas and well-defined problem statements, Sam and I have a solid foundation for designing appropriate and effective solutions. I can focus on addressing real problems faced by customers, and delivering products and services that match their needs.

Branding

"The Positioning of Brand Guard Grooming is Quite Good, but Why Isn't the Marketing Strategy Effective?"

Even though Guard Grooming has done good brand positioning and targeted the entry level to mid level segment, their ad conversions have not reached a significant level. After delving deeper into the marketing strategy carried out by Sam and his team, there are several factors that might cause challenges in achieving the desired results.

One of them is that it is important for Guard Grooming to personalize their advertising messages according to the preferences and needs of customers like Joan. By understanding more deeply about the characteristics of their customers, they can deliver relevant and engaging content, increase ad appeal and influence purchasing decisions.

The implementation of this brand strategy on web pages will be made with a creative approach and different from other competitors. Web pages should be simple but informative, with attractive layouts and easy to navigate. Quality and educational content about hair removal, skin and coat types must be presented in an interesting and easy-to-understand way.

In addition, providing superior service through web pages will strengthen the bond between brands and customers which can help customers get answers to their questions quickly, increasing satisfaction and engagement.

In the overall web page design, creativity in combining strategic elements is key. create a memorable impression on visitors, and drive conversions into active buyers. By consistently and continuously implementing this brand strategy, Guard Grooming can increase their ad conversions, provide an unparalleled customer experience, and strengthen their position as a leader in the hair removal industry.

Produce Solution

"Let’s Transforming Strategy Into Digital Solutions for Guard Grooming"

By finding many unique strategies and turning them into structured digital solutions, I designed a web page that presents all of these solutions in an integrated manner for Guard Grooming. Through a clear site map and information architecture process, each strategy is put in the right position to solve problems and provide a superior experience for customers.

One of the main solutions to implement on-demand sam as well is to offer subscription options to increase conversions from viewers to active buyers. This web page will become a service center for customers, enabling them to easily get product personalization to suit their needs. In this way, issues such as product incompatibility will be addressed, avoiding serious implications for customers.

With a simple interface and good userflow, this web page will provide an easy and pleasant experience for customers when they browse product options that are tailored to their preferences. Ease of making choices will increase customer confidence in making purchases.

This webpage will be a powerful platform, combining unique strategies into one efficient digital solution. I will take advantage of this design to optimize marketing and provide better service to Guard Grooming customers. With the combination of simplicity and the power of service, this web page will become one of the pillars of Guard Grooming’s successful business in the hair removal industry.

Solution Concept

“Starter Pack Subscription with Effective Service Prospects to Activate Guard Grooming Audiences”

With brilliant innovation, I turned the design framework into a clear concept through wireframing and lofi prototyping. I created concrete concept wireframes, visualizing the strategic parts of the solution with astonishing precision. From an attractive landing view, customers can immediately experience the tantalizing starter pack subscription offer. They can easily find the right product according to their preferences, guided by a simple, convincing flow to make a purchase. Education and other solutions are presented in an informative and useful manner.

I make sure the flow of the customer experience is as easy as possible, while still providing great value to the audience and the progress of Guard Grooming. In an effort to achieve an outstanding final design, I presented 3 (three) different concepts to test and selected through concept testing and A/B testing. With this approach, Sam and I were able to pinpoint which concepts were the best and most suitable for making a winning final design.

With a combination of creativity and care, the concept that has been designed will become a solid foundation for bringing Guard Grooming towards a glorious future. The testing process will ensure that the final design will provide the best customer experience and establish Guard Grooming as a leader in the hair removal industry.

Designing Solution

“Testers and Stakeholders Choose Concepts with Objective Flow and Content to Customers”

By focusing on a User Centric approach, I realized that the best solution to solving problems and achieving Guard Grooming goals is to understand and care for customers. With this belief, I proceeded to refine the solution concept to a Hifi UI Design (Mockup).

The visual design creative process produces several important assets, including illustrations, vector tracing & design, visual design, UI style guides, and design systems. Every detail is carefully designed to create an attractive appearance and reflect the value and quality of Guard Grooming.

Through the final UI design, I present the prototyping and interaction design to do the testing. With this test, I ensure that the design of the final solution that I offer is perfect and meets expectations.

Not only that, I didn’t stop at one design choice, I created 6 different styles to offer Sam and the users. This ensures that I provide a wide range of choices and ensures that the design chosen is the best for Guard Grooming.

Testing & Iteration

“This Comprehensive Testing Led Me and Sam to get Guard Grooming’s Mission”

Of the six styles that I created, I conducted a series of tests with real users through Concept testing, Design Testing, Expert Review, A/B testing, and User Acceptance Testing. The results of this test are very satisfying, especially in the last style that I offer. The users give full support to the design with the sixth style, and there is no serious negative feedback.

The users are very impressed with the website pages that can help them make the best decision to get the product according to their preferences. They recognize that Guard Grooming is a manufacturer of quality and reputable fur cleaners. However, previously, Guard Grooming had not been able to overcome the problem of customers who were often wrong and unwise in choosing products according to their needs and preferences. This has caused Guard Grooming’s branding to decline due to the many complaints and bad stories from customers.

With the presence of this website page, Guard Grooming’s online presence is getting better. From the test results, all users who tested the website steadily and without hesitation took action as expected. Once they’ve explored all the pages, they steadily hit the CTA “Start Trial” button to try out the main service and finally make a smooth purchase and subscription.

With this success, I was able to achieve the metrics and goals with Sam of increasing customer conversions into buyers through subscription offers supported by usability websites that not only present and explain products in the conventional way, but also offer a website that is more useful and beneficial to customers. With this solution, Guard Grooming can provide a superior experience for customers and enhance their reputation and business continuity.
